Nick Matthews

Nick began weightlifting and CrossFit during grade school to improve his overall athletic ability.  The hard work in the gym helped earn him a Division 1 Track and Field scholarship at SIUE where he went on to become the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman Athlete of the Year and a two-time Ohio Valley Conference Champion.

Nick holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in sports psychology from Southern Illinois University @ Edwardsville. He is an NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer and an NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  He is currently working on his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Evansville and writes some of our programming.  He leads “Bootcamp” and “Strength and Fitness classes” when home from college.  He also works with grade school and high school athletes to improve overall strength, form and athletic ability.
